Explore Bordeaux![]() Grand Theatre This is a 18th century building, constructed by architect Victor Louis and was inaugurated in april 7, 1780. Now the theatre is used as an Opera house and there are guided tours to visit it. The Opera website is: www.opera-bordeaux.com Tel: +33 05 56 00 85 95. ![]() Saint Michel This church was built in the 15th century and has the second tallest tower in France with 112 metres, with a gothic style the pulpit represents St. Michael slaying the dragon. Now can be visited daily from June to September from 14:00 to 19:00. ![]() The Port de la Lune Named like this because of its shape, the Port de la Lune unites the heart of the city around its crescent shape. Has a lot of commercial activity around and now the harbour attracts a growing number of cruise liners and pleasure craft. ![]() Cathedral of St Andre The Saint Andre Cathedral is the biggest church in Bordeaux and is situated on the southern edge of the Old Town, was built in the 15th century, but its origins date from the 11th century now almost nothing remains from the old construction. ![]() Porte d'Aquitaine This monument is located in the Place de la Victoire, you can reach there following the Rue St Catherine and was built during the 21st century. ![]() Museum of Beaux Arts This Museum is located near the Cathedral of Saint Andre and you may visit this place and see the works of art whose origins date from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Is open for visitors from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 until 18:00. |
