Many people consider the The Musée de la Castre as one top tourist attraction in Cannes, situated in a medieval castle, and houses a varied collection of exhibits. Visitors can climb the tower and enjoy of an amazing view of Cannes, the bay and the Lérins islands.

Located off the shore of Cannes in a fort on the nearest of the Lérins Islands which is famous as the setting for the jail featured in Alexander Dumas’s 'Man in the Iron Mask'. Has a section devoted to temporary photographic, the prison system and to underwater archeology collections; but the main part is the exhibit about the mysterious man in the iron mask.
