Only 40 minutes away by train from Gare de Lyon, this impressive forest may be one of the most tempting destinations for tourists and locals looking for a getaway.
It is not only one of the largest Forests in France but also the perfect spot for rock climbing; matter of fact, this 280-square-kilometer forest is a favorite spot for alpinist that await for summer to get to the Alps.
You can get there by car through the A6 Freeway or by a tour bus from Paris. This forest is known because of its variety of insects and animals as well as its European Beech, Mushrooms, Oak and Scot Pines.
Fontainebleau Castle
Since the Middle Age this beautiful castle has been the residence of not only Kings but Emperors as Napoleon, who was very fond of it. This spectacular building has a particular cultural importance because it was here that Renaissance early ideas were conceived and it was also the home of the French Royal Court.
There are thousands of beautiful objects to be seen, besides the beautiful decoration and the architecture displayed.
