Marseille Provence International Airport receives flights from more than 80 different destinations from all over the world. The airport is located 27km (17 miles) northwest of the center of the city. The terminal has three halls, for international and domestic arrivals and departures.

There are minivans and buses that give transport service from the airport to the city, run daily from 6a.m every 20 minutes and the journey takes generally 30 minutes.

By Train

There are 200 trains approx. that arrive daily to Marseille from other cities such as Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Genoa and Geneva. The TGV line provides with 12 high-speed trains to Paris and can take you from Marseille to Paris in three hours, and the main station is Gare St Charles (tel: (08) 92 35 35 35). Regional trains serve Avignon, Nice, Toulon, Cannes and many other towns on the coast and inland. You can also take the local train which runs almost every hour across the Côte d’Azur making a number of stops before reaching Marseille.

By Car

Motorways in Marseille are very safe ad are connected to Spain, Italy and Northern Europe. Take the A7 to go to the north (Aix, Lyon, Paris), take the A8 to go to Nice, the A55 for going to the west of the city (Fos, Martigues, Monpellier and Barcelona), the A50/N98 runs along the Mediterranean from Marseille through Toulon, Heyres, St Tropez, St Maxime, St Raphael, Cannes and eventually on to Nice, the A55 to the west (Martigues, Monpellier and Barcelona).

The minimum age for driving is 18 years. And the Speed limits are: 130kph (81mph) on motorways, 110kph (68mph) on dual carriageways 90kph (56mph) outside built-up areas and 50kph (31mph) in built-up areas.
