Education in France


Education is one of the main problems for governments around the world, because the quality of education in each country defines the prospect for the future so governments invest huge amounts of money in the educational system. There are many countries such as Japan, China, USA, India, France, Germany and other countries in Europe that have special education systems. These countries are concerned with giving the best education at all educational levels; that is the reason why they are global leaders.
French Education System is divided into two subsystems which are: state education and private education. State education is well-funded, organized and well-structured and it has an average to high standards. For the last two decades, schools have been compulsory for all children between 6 years and 16 years of age. Preschools have undergone a very striking advance in the education system so kids start school earlier. French children spend considerable periods of time at school so they can strengthen their knowledge.
Teachers are well-trained and well-paid in public schools, similar thing happens at Universities their teachers are paid by the state. French education system currently has three levels which are Nursery Schools, Primary Schools and Secondary Schools. After Secondary School, most students choose to apply to a University, but they attend to a preparatory school before that. There are many competitive educational institutions where young people can continue their studies such as Ecoles d'Ingénieurs, where one can study Sciences, Business Schools, for all young people who like Finances, and Universities.
There is a dual university system in France: the "Grandes Ecoles" and the "Universités", the first system has no equivalent in countries such as the USA or Germany. Most French universities are considered by University Rankings, because these universities have high educational standards that ensure the quality of education in France and so they are recognized worldwide. Many universities offer scholarships for students with low incomes, the program “Erasmus” allows all students from Europe to study in French universities and this program offer many benefits. This program shows that University courses in different countries are similar; many University courses that are taught at French universities are regulated by educational institutions so these courses are standardized in most universities in France.
There are many reasons why most people decide to take educational courses in France, as the ones we already listed above. Education in France may be considered one of the most important educational systems in Europe; many universities have agreements with French schools and universities so students from different places in the world can come to study in France.
