It usually lasts 21 days and cyclists get to rest for two days.

Other events or sports:

The most important cycling race in the world takes place in France. This competition is the hardest one and the competitors have to train for a long time and have to be well prepared. This race is only for professionals as it takes a lot of effort to reach the final stage that always finishes on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. This is a three week long road race that covers areas all around around France and sometimes neighbouring countries.

France has beautiful beaches and river beaches.Surfing is best around Biarritz, and many people prefer the Canal du Midi, around Paris, for boating. Rock climbing and mountaineering are also popular sports in France.
