Abbaye Saint Victor

This building was constructed in the 5th century by architect Jean Cassien, the tomb of Saint Victor can be found here. After being destroyed several times, the abbey was finally fortified in the 14th century.

Palais du Pharo

This Palace was a gift from Napoléon III and dates from the 19th century. It is a very impressive example of the architecture of this century. It has a splendid view of the coast and the inside of this palace has a very elegant antique décor.

Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde

One of the characteristics of this Basilique is its location, at the top of a hill. It has a unique view of the city and is very popular with tourists. It was built in the 19th century and has a Romanesque-Byzantine style. If you want to visit this monument, it's open daily from 7am to 7pm and admission is free.

Fort St Nicholas

This fortress was constructed in the 13th century by the Chevalier de Clerville under the orders of Louis XIV and is located at the entrance of the port.

Cathédrale de la nouvelle Major

This Cathedral is simply amazing and was built in the 12th century with a Romanesque-Byzantine style. This is an excellent example of Medieval religious architecture and one of its characteristics is the use of stone with a pink hue.
