Orsay Museum

The museum has three levels, acts like a time bridge because covers the space of time (from 1848 to 1914) between the collections of the museum of the Louvre and those of the museum of Modern art of the Center George Pompidou; Orsay features all the arts (painting, sculpture, architecture, objects d'art, furniture, cinema, photography, music, decoration even opera.

Orsay also offers concerts with the repertory of the period 1848-1914 in the auditorium and the restaurant. The auditorium also accommodates film projections, in particular an annual festival devoted to the cinema of the origins.

Opening Hours:

  • Museum and exhibitions
    Open from 9.30am to 6pm (Thursdays until 9.45pm)

  • Group visits
    Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4pm (Thursdays until 8pm)
    Closed on Mondays, on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December

  • Bookshop and museum store
    Open daily, except Mondays, 9.30am to 6.30pm (Thursdays until 9.30pm)
